Jan. 9, 2018, 7pm in Commack High School Little Theater - "Decoding What's Behind The Vapor", The Real Facts on Vaping and E-Cigarettes - Stephanie Sloan, MS, CASAC, a senior drug abuse educator at the Suffolk County Department of Health will conduct this informative evening. She will present an overview and facts surrounding the use and abuse of e-cigarettes and vaping. A Q&A session will follow the presentation.
Jan. 18, 2018, 7pm at Commack Fire Department (Jericho Turnpike)-"This is Your (Teen's) Brain on Drugs-the Coalition is honored to have Stephen Dewey, PhD back again to present his findings on drug use and the impact on your child's brain. A renowned neurosurgeon at The Feinstein Institute for Medical Research, Dr. Dewey has examined virtually every drug of abuse and its impact on the brain function of a teen. Please join us for this informative discussion.
Mar. 13, 2018, 6:30pm, Commack Middle School-Mind, Body and Spirit-an Evening Dedicated to Your Well-Being-yoga, pilates, tai-chi, meditation, and nutrition will be spotlighted. Attendees of this evening will have the opportunity to hear from community members who will provide valuable information in 15-minute sessions. Tables will be set up for those interested in essential oils, exercise opportunities, and blood pressure checking.
