This is Your (Teen’s) Brain on Drugs

The Commack Coalition of Caring and The Commack School District is proud to present an evening with Stephen Dewey, PhD.

Dr. Dewey, a renowned neuroscientist at New York University School of Medicine, has examined virtually every drug of abuse (from marijuana to heroin) and its impact on the brain function of a teen. Come for an informative discussion about his findings.

Following Dr. Dewey’s presentation there will be Narcan Training.
This informative lifesaving training will allow participants to learn and be able to ask specific questions to the specialist about NARCAN.

Dr. Dewey will discuss a range of abused drugs; including illicit drugs, prescription drugs, marijuana, synthetic marijuana, energy drinks, caffeine and e-cigarettes. In addition, using actual PET Scan images, he will explain how alcohol and drug use affect developing adolescent and adult brains. His format is non-judgmental and is based on objective scientific data.
