The Coalition will utilize effective prevention strategies and activities to promote healthful behaviors, decisions and environments that will reduce, postpone or eliminate the problematic use of alcohol, prescription, and over-the-counter drugs, and any use of illegal drugs. The Coalition will work to:

  • Reduce substance abuse among youth and, over time, among adults in our community by addressing risk factors and by promoting protective factors that minimize the risk of substance abuse.
  • Establish and strengthen collaboration among other community coalitions, private non-profit agencies, Federal, State and local governments to support the efforts of community coalitions to prevent and reduce substance abuse among youth and our community at large.
  • Educate the community about risk and protective factors that impact alcohol and other drug use.
